“Fitness Zones supply gym equipment to unincorporated neighborhoods so local residents can exercise free of charge."
“They’ve been very successful in the 10 parks where L.A. County already has installed them.”
Good news for SoCal residents as 7 parks have been earmarked for new Fitness Zones. The $425k in funding is coming partly from California's Proposition A Property Tax ($175k or 41%) and partly from the Trust for Public Land, the national nonprofit land conservation organization (which will supply $250k or 59%), through private grants it has secured.
