A youth council plays a very useful role in communicating the needs of young people to local government. Haisham in Sussex, in south-eastern England, is one such town with a youth council. The young ones (youth council) have recently been given the green light by the elders (town council) for a new outdoor gym - they’re now in the process of securing funding for it. The Eastbourne Herald reports on the same story here: http://www.eastbourneherald.co.uk/news/local-news/hailsham_outdoor_fitness_centre_plan_gets_green_light_from_council_1_3314178
