A new 7 piece Outdoor Gym has been officially opened in the Town Park in Carrigaline, Co. Cork. The Active Retirement Group in Carrigaline was instrumental in this project. Local TD Michael McGrath opened the Outdoor Gym, in the presence of local councillors, members of Carrigaline Active Retirement Association, some neighbouring Active Retirement Association members and local people.
7 of our most popular pieces were selected for this project - 6 of our Deluxe Pieces and 1 Standard Piece. The Deluxe pieces were the Air Walker, Cross Trainer, Shoulder Builder, Rider, Waist Twister and Leg Press along with a Standard Air Walker.
Anne O'Brien, the Southern Region Development Officer for Active Retirement Ireland, was instrumental in securing funding for this project, which came from Cork County Council, Pepsi Co. and South and East Cork Area Development Ltd.
Local reaction has been extremely positive, as can be seen from our Facebook page.
